Cedar Grove H.S. Black & Gold Scholarship Fund Gets Boost

from American Bank.

Cedar Grove, NJ --  September, 2006

American Bank of New Jersey recently presented its annual scholarship contribution to the Cedar Grove High School Black & Gold Club, the organization that promotes both athletics and academics at the school.  Each summer the Club awards $500 scholarships to 10 deserving Cedar Grove High School students who not only exhibit academic achievement, but also excel in sports.  Since the 1960s the Club has recognized excellence in major team sports such as football, baseball and basketball, as well many other individual sports, including golf, tennis and track.  American Bank of NJ has been a major supporter of the scholarship fund since 2001.    

At the recent presentation of the annual check, Michael Schiavo, Black & Gold Club President commented, “We are once again delighted and thankful to have the recognition and financial support of American Bank of NJ in this important scholarship program.  Since the bank opened its Cedar Grove branch in 2001, over 50 deserving Cedar Grove High School students have benefited from the fund, many of whom have gone on to prominence in sports, business and other endeavors.”


American Bank of New Jersey Awards Annual Scholarships to

Cedar Grove Seniors.

American Bank of New Jersey has announced the winners of its annual college scholarships, given each year to the outstanding male and female graduating seniors from Cedar Grove High School.  Students are selected on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement and exemplary participation in extracurricular activities, including sports.

The 2006 outstanding male scholarship was awarded to Kevin Luke, son of James and Jane Luke of Cedar Grove.  The outstanding female scholarship was awarded to Caitlin Dziublenski, daughter of Joseph and Diane Dziublenski, also of Cedar Grove.  Both students came up through the Cedar Grove school system, originally attending South End Elementary School in Cedar Grove, and later Memorial Middle School, prior to Cedar Grove High School. The American Bank scholarship program is now in its 6th year in Cedar Grove.

Kevin Luke plans to pursue a career in engineering, and has been accepted as a student at Columbia University in New York City.   Caitlin Dziublenski will study speech pathology at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.  Both students are currently working in sales positions prior to the start of college classes. 


American Bank of New Jersey Announces Cedar Grove

Deborah DeMichele - American Bank of New JerseyAmerican Bank of New Jersey, the Bloomfield, NJ-based community bank, has announced the appointment of Deborah DeMichele as the Cedar Grove Assistant Branch Manager. In her new position, Ms. DeMichele will bring a wealth of banking experience to the bank’s Cedar Grove branch.  Ms. DeMichele will assist American Bank’s branch manager, Tina Parsons, in the day-to-day operations of this very busy location.  Ms. DeMichele comes to American Bank of NJ from Bank of America in Cedar Grove.  She currently resides in Verona, NJ.  Ms. DeMichele holds a New Jersey life insurance license to sell fixed annuities and has successfully earned placement in the Top 100 Club for annuities sales for three consecutive years.
